  • NH License (must be licensed in NH to do adoptions)
  • Non-Profit Status (501c3 status registered in NH)
  • Must have a website or Facebook page
    • both is better
    • website is not a petfinder site
    • website and Facebook page is dedicated to the rescue named
  • Information Must NOT be linked to Breeding animals of any kind, Since this is a list for homeless and unwanted pets, etc.

NOTE – Keep in mind, many out of state organizations are not animal welfare organizations.  They are in business to make money.  They look for free pets to “sell” as adoptions.  Some organizations “create” or falsify health and vaccination records.  BEFORE adopting, research any and all organizations listed here or anywhere.  We try our best to list reputable organizations but can not guarantee anything.

NOTE – NH Law requires any organization that is transferring an animal to be licensed in the state.  This includes any and all foster homes linked to the organization.

Any rescue or animal shelter that is reputable will ensure that your newly adopted pet will be

  • spay/neutered (all pets done before adoption, includes cats/kittens, dogs/puppies)
  • up to date on all vaccines
  • parasite tested, treated
  • completed health check and physical
