Make Up Days for Holidays, Closed Days, Vacations ( yours/ours) – No Shows

Can I make up a day if I forgot and did not come?
No. If you did not show up on your scheduled day, never emailed and never cancelled, this day can not be made up. Cancellations that you want make up days for should be done 24-48 hours in advance. Cancelling the less than 24 hours can not be made up.
What happens if I forget the make up day and do not come?
Unfortunately, it is a no show if you were scheduled and it is lost and can not be rescheduled. If you did not show up on your scheduled make up day, never emailed and never cancelled, this day can not be made up. Cancellations and make up days should be done 24-48 hours in advance, not the morning of.
What is the main criteria to have a make up day?
Many clients do not want to make up days or to switch days. It is up to you to let us know immediately, so that we can make note of it so that you are not charged for a make up day. We do not keep track, as days are immediately entered at the time. Once the days start or vacations start, make up days are lost.
- If you need to cancel a day, send us an email. In that email let us know that you need to cancel with date AND give us the date you are switching it to. Once date is cancelled and there is no date to switch it to, it is determined you do not want a make up day and it is closed.
- If we have closed for a storm, emergency whatever. On that day send us an email as to which day you want to switch it to. After the day ends, it is determined you do not want a make up day and it is closed.
- If you are cancelling a day due to a vacation, let us know which day you want as a makeup day. Again, once you have cancelled, if you do not mention a make up day, it is determined you do not want a make up day and it is closed.
- If the Animal Center is closed due to our vacation, these dates are posted well in advance. Once our vacation starts and you have not let us know of any make up dates, it is determined you do not want a make up day and it is closed.
- Make up days can be scheduled 4 weeks prior or after the vacation, holidays, etc
Why can’t we make up days any time AFTER
Simply put, it is too confusing. We do not have the ability to keep a running tally. So if anyone wants to use a makeup day for a holiday that is coming up, let us know BEFORE. We need to go into the system, add a day and fix it so the system does not charge. It is put in as a make up day with the date making up.
Days missed for any reason, do not accumulate, they are lost once they go by

What if the Center is closed for a holiday, snowstorm or vacation on one of my scheduled days?
You have choices
When to let us know of your choice
- 30 days notice – Holidays and our scheduled vacations will be known to you far in advance, let is know in as far in advance as possible, best at 30 days notice. You have dates we will be closed, a year in advance.
- Right after announcement of closure due to storm – If we are closed due to a storm, let us know as soon as you know we are closed that day. Any time during that day’s closure is good. Once the day ends, the matter is closed.
- Mondays – If you are regularly booked on Mondays which have many holidays, let us know if you want to automatically be booked a different day that week when a holiday happens. For example You are booked on Monday and Wednesday, we can move that Monday holiday to Friday! No need to contact us
NOTE – Makeup days will be LOST and not available after Holiday, Storm, etc has passed or vacation has started, so do BEFORE the Holiday, vacation and the Day of the Storm – the next day will be too late.
NOTE – if you do not state these are make up days for such and such, then the program will think these are additional days and you will be charged for these extra days as many do not want makeup days. We need to physically go into your account to prevent charges
NOTE – IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER about Switching Days or Make Up Days
- Switching days or Make Up days are solely the owner’s responsibility as we are simply super busy giving your dog the best experience. Plus the majority do not wish to switch days or make up days and understand that there is no refund/credit.
- ALL days you wish to Switch or Make up MUST be done quickly, following protocols for each.
- Once days have passed, switching days or make up days are no longer available.
- A few days, weeks or more after the day(s) in question can not be asked for switching or make up days.
So the FIRST thing, let us know immediately, if you wish to choose any of the 3 choices below.
If we do not hear from you before a holiday, before our scheduled vacations or day of storm, choice number 3 will be your choice.
If I switch to a different day, will my dog get that day’s activity?
- If you let us know before the month starts, at least 30 days prior the first day, then we may be able to plan and make sure we have enough items for all the dogs scheduled.
- If it is less than that, we do try to make sure that all dogs get to do the activities that are scheduled when they attend but keep in mind, there may be days that we are unable to do this, there is no guarantee
WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MAKE UP DAYS IMMEDIATELY, NOT AFTER?
- We need to physically go into the program and prevent it from charging you
- We will not remember days you missed, etc as we are super busy every day
- So, if you are cancelling a day then at the same time, let us know the date you want to use for make up
- Scheduling a vacation, let us know the make up dates at the same time
- Are we closed for holiday, let us now before the holiday what day you wish to make up for it
- Are we closed for a storm, let us know that day, you wish to make it up on the date you want.
Always mention it is a make up day for…. or it will simply be added and charged for
IT IS TOO LATE, Once
- the day your call in sick is gone by,
- you come back from a vacation,
- the holiday has passed
- Storm day has passed
Make Up Days – how to do it – can reschedule another daycare day OR do a Pet Sitting Visit
- ADD the number of daycare days missed to the future as make up days
To do this, you would let us know the dates to add as make up days to your regular schedule. So if you normally come on Tuesday/Thursday, your makeup days can be scheduled on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday – If you are adding days for make up, you MUST let me know these are makeup days, otherwise the program will add them as regular days and they will be charged. I have to physically go into the program and take the charge out. - Substitute a Daycare Makeup day for an in your home mid day visits while your dog is home. Your missed daycare price will go towards those visits (a completed profile is required with Professional Pet Sitting Etc, pet sitting visits are available 365 days per year)
- Do nothing. Some clients do not wish to make up the missed days in any way. No credit/refund
NOTE – If you want Makeup days for daycare –
- Makeup days can only be scheduled within a current paid minimum or more, Daycare Membership for the month, already scheduled with your regular days – minimum membership is 2x per week
- Makeup days can NOT be used for regular scheduled days, make up days are days over and above your regular schedule.
- For example – if you normally come every Tues/Thurs, make up days must be scheduled on a Mon/Wed/Fri
- Notify the office via email, as soon as possible well before holidays, vacations or morning of storms
- Let us know that you want to schedule make up days and give us the extra dates you want us to schedule.
- This should be done BEFORE your dog is back to daycare.
- if your dog comes back to daycare after holiday, vacation, etc,, that is too late
- We must physically go into the program to prevent these makeup days from being charged, so you must specifically tell us that the dates you are giving us are for makeup days.
- If not, they will be charged as regular days that have been added. There are many clients who do not want make up days or use other services (like pet sitting), so you need to specify.
- Make up days can be used for any cancelled day when given a 48 hour notice of cancellation. Give us the date as soon as you are letting us know of the cancellation. This would be switching a day.
Again, Any missed days for any reason are not credited or refunded.
NOTE – if a credit/refund is insisted upon, there will be a 50% deduction of total, before credit/refund is processed
If you want in your home mid day visits, make sure you are registered and have a completed profile with Professional Pet Sitting Etc (our other company), so we can make that reservation. Daycare price will go towards the Mid Day visit 60 or higher, that you choose
Also keep in mind, that your dog may not be able to participate in an activity on a makeup day, simply because they were not on the schedule when the activity was planned a month or two ago. We always try to include but sometimes it may not be possible.
