Vaccines/Health for Cats and Kittens

It is highly recommended for the health of your cat/kitten to keep at home and use our pet sitting services.

Having worked in rescue and experienced in feline behavior, cats do much better staying in their own home environment. Most cats become very stressed when they are in new environments.  Hearing new noises, dogs barking, etc can be a situation that cats do not enjoy.

For cats that will be boarding with us, they will need –

Vaccines for Small Pets

Ferrets, for Boarding, in NH ferrets are required to have vaccines for

  • Canine Distemper
  • Rabies

These are not required for in home pet care

Other small pets are not required to have any vaccines in NH

Health

PETS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS or MEDICATIONS/SUPPLEMENTS/HERBS –

For your pets best interest, If your pet has any medical condition, we must stress that we are not medical professionals and can not be responsible for anything that may happen with a pet that has a medical condition.

For many pets, it can be stressful to board and we do our best to make their stay as comfortable as possible, however, stress can exacerbate almost every health condition.

For your pets well being, we may not accept your pet with a health condition for boarding/daycare or may offer in home pet care.

  • Diabetics – because stress will affect insulin, we will not accept diabetics for boarding/daycare, they will do much better with our in home pet care services
  • FLUIDS – we will not accept pets for boarding/daycare that are in kidney failure or any reason they may need fluid therapy
  • Disabled dogs or any dogs that can not easily go up or down a full flight of stairs – Dogs that can not easily walk up or down stairs by themselves can not be accepted because we have a full flight of stairs that they will need to navigate to go outside.
  • Dogs or Cats that are Blind or Deaf – boarding these disabled pets are very stressful as they do not have these senses to see what is going on around them leading to high anxiety.
  • Elderly pets – pets that are considered elderly with heart issues, anxiety or other health issues will not do well boarded.  The stress and higher anxiety of a boarding situation can be detrimental to our senior pets.  They will do much better in their home environment with in home pet care.
  • Any other medical condition, that may be affected by stress, will be determined on a case by case basis and may require a veterinary note deeming pet to be okay for boarding/daycare

MEDICATIONS/SUPPLEMENTS/HERBS – we will send an email about this if your pet is on any of these
